PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Fehn Companies was awarded the demolition of the historic Corner Bar in St. Michael. The building was built in 1897 and was initially a saloon and hotel. The Corner Bar held a great amount of significance to the community, and was no easy feat for our team as the building stood very close to a busy intersection. It held so much significance that in drew in a large amount of spectators to watch the building be taken to the ground. Many came to watch and share memories with others, while some came in hopes to obtain some bricks from the historic building. Our team was able to meet the requests from the community by salvaging multiple bricks for people to take. One interesting thing about this demo was that the City of St. Michael requested us to salvage the "1897" plaque at the top of the building. Our excavator operator was able to safely knock the plaque into the rubble pile, while two Fehn Companies employees retrieved it and delivered it to the city.
